Darshil Parikh, age 25 years, was diagnosed with left hemiplegia following a stroke. He had a
15-month history of significant weakness in his left upper limb, presenting with no finger movement, no wrist control, zero grip pattern, and mild spasticity (Grade 1+) at the start of therapy.

He began neuro-rehabilitation at RehabVeda on 08/09/2025, where he started thought-controlled hand therapy using the RehabVeda R1 neuro-rehab system. Early sessions focused on initiating finger activation, wrist control, and reducing tone.

On reassessment on 26/09/2025, Darshil showed meaningful progress –

  • Finger flexion improved from 0 → 2

  • Finger extension remained the same (0 → 0)

  • Wrist control improved from 0 → 1

  • Grip variety increased from 0 → 3

  • Spasticity reduced from Grade 1+ → Grade 1

  • Fugl-Meyer score improved from 1 → 7 (+6 points)

Darshil has now initiated voluntary wrist movement, early finger activation, and a basic fist grip, showing early neuroplastic recovery after 15 months of limited hand use. Tone reduction has improved movement quality. Continued RehabVeda R1 therapy is expected to further enhance fine-motor skills and functional grip patterns.
