Mahesh Lakhvani, age 52 years, was diagnosed with left hemiplegia post-stroke. He had an 8-month history of weakness in his left upper limb, presenting with absent finger movement, no wrist control, no grip variety, and mild–moderate spasticity (Grade 1+) at the start of therapy.

mahesh lakhvani progress report

He began neuro-rehabilitation at RehabVeda, undergoing thought-controlled therapy with the RehabVeda R1 system. Initial therapy focused on activating finger movement, reducing tone, and basic grip initiation.

On reassessment, Mahesh showed measurable improvement –

  • Finger flexion improved from 0 → 2
  • Finger extension improved from 0 → 1
  • Grip variety improved from 0 → 1

  • Spasticity reduced from Grade 1+ → Grade 1
  • Overall score improved from 0 → 5 / 22
  • Wrist control remained unchanged (0 → 0)

He now demonstrates partial voluntary finger movement, reduced tone, and early grip initiation, indicating neuroplastic recovery and improved attention during tasks. Progress was temporarily slowed due to a one-month therapy gap related to psychological issues, but improvement resumed following consistent R1 training.
