Neel, age 14 years, was diagnosed with right hemiplegia following brain hemorrhage. He had a 1-year history of weakness in his right hand and wrist, presenting with partial finger activation, poor wrist control, limited grip patterns, and mild spasticity at the start of therapy.

He began neuro-rehabilitation at RehabVeda, undergoing thought-controlled therapy with the RehabVeda R1 system. Initial sessions focused on finger activation, reducing tone, and initiating basic grip and release training.

On reassessment, Neel showed consistent improvement –

  • Spherical grasp improved from 0 → 2
  • Cylindrical grasp improved from 0→ 2
  • Pinch grip improved from 0 → 1
  • Fine motor control improved from 0 → 1
  • Fugl-Meyer hand score improved from 0 → 13 (+13 points)
  • Spasticity remained mild with better voluntary control

He now demonstrates better finger coordination, early active release attempts, and the ability to hold objects such as a ball or tube with assistance, indicating improving voluntary activation and brain-hand response.
